Sailing:

I have built and owned several Yachts and am actively planning experiments on a future Yacht (e.g. interior work, different rigs, etc.) and off-shore journeys (e.g. Caribbean and back…)

First boat.jpg (30622 bytes) My First boat! This was around 1971 and the boat was made of Styrofoam(!) - Talk about unsinkable boats.....  I later changed a lot on this boat. For example foldable rudder, bowsprit and spinnaker. I learned to sail in this boat, but soon it was not exciting enough.
During the winter of 1973-74, I built a Fireball. The building place was on the second floor (!) in my parent's house. The first picture shows the (almost) finished boat.

Then it's me and my oldest sister on the beach after a sail. This boat was a dream to sail. Fast, yet stable. I was mostly crewing with a friend as helmsman. I sometimes also sailed it alone (with a long extension of the tiller, you can stand in the trapeze and steer... with the spinnaker up it was a bit tricky though...)

The third picture shows the final stage of the boat (also my first car is shown...)

Building IF boat.jpg (34943 bytes) Having read all the classical books on long distance sailing (Chichester, et al.) I started too look at boats you can live in and sail away in.

I bought an IF boat (International Folkboat) as a kit and built the interior during the winter of 1975-76. The picture shows the non-standard galley I put in. <more pictures to follow>

After a long break, I bought a Magnifik Midget in 1991. The boat was fun to sail after so long time on dry land, but it was a bit small for serious voyaging..... I had it only one season.
So, the next boat was a bit bigger. A Separat 900 (9*3m) was bought. I sailed this two seasons and it was really comfortable. However, a bit on the big side for single handed sailing.

It was sold when the family moved to USA.

So, now I was without boat for a long time, but now! Look here what I bought.

Radio:

I am a licensed Radio Amateur (SM7IFK) ; Some building projects are lying around in the workshop... workshop2.jpg (54757 bytes)

Carpentry:

I am continually planning and implementing changes and extensions to the family home. I built a summerhouse too. Unfortunately, I had to sell it...

Music:

guitar.jpg (32545 bytes) I play guitar (classical as well as electric) for personal pleasure. I will put some better pictures here some time. Maybe also some sound files, who knows...

I also play banjo, harmonica, drums and keyboard.

I  had a lot of LPs that I have converted to CDs and MP3. I used the Wave Corrector tool to improve the audio before burning the CDs. Here is the set-up:

My Jimi Hendrix collection of some 50-60 LPs was the big challenge...
